For two decades, one event has brought together some of the world’s most passionate blue water hunters, elite freedivers, and ocean adventurers. This year, XTAR is proud to sponsor the 20th Blue Water World Cup.
Held from June 25–29 in the crystal-clear waters of La Ventana, Baja California Sur, Mexico, and hosted by Palapas Ventana, the Blue Water World Cup has been one of the world’s premier blue water spearfishing competitions since 1999.
Every year, the event attracts many professional divers from North America, Europe, and beyond. These athletes test their skills in one of the purest forms of underwater hunting—breath-hold diving—pursuing powerful pelagic species such as wahoo, tuna, mahi-mahi, and marlin. Success demands exceptional diving ability, patience, ocean knowledge, and an unwavering commitment to safety.
